A unique feature of a Kelantan house is that it is divided into five sections. You will first walk into a big living area (and in this particular house, you will see a bed - don't ask me why). Going further in you will pass a small section about 3 feet in length and walk through another door towards another big area. To get to the back of the house you will pass another small section again.

I don't know why this is so but it sure makes a good defense mechanism. Imagine bolting every door and placing guards at each section while you hide in the middle. Enemies will sure have a tough time getting to you from the front or the back.
